2. Hardware Permissions and Local Processing
To deliver essential anti-theft and proximity guard utilities, PocketSiren requests specific local system permissions. These are managed strictly on your device:
- Proximity Sensor & Wake Lock: Used exclusively while "Guard Mode" is active to detect when your smartphone is extracted from a pocket, bag, or flat surface, and to prevent the processor from sleeping during active monitoring.
- Biometric & Device Credential Authentication: Used solely to verify your identity through system-level prompts when attempting to disarm an active siren alarm.
- Audio & Alarm Streams: Used locally to trigger high-volume emergency sound alerts when a theft event is detected.
3. Third-Party Services and Monetization (Google AdMob)
PocketSiren uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, helping keep the application free for all users. AdMob may automatically collect and process certain non-personal device identifiers (such as your device's Advertising ID) to serve relevant advertisements in compliance with Google Play Developer Policies.
